A Guide to Indigenous Plant Suppliers for the Ballarat, Bacchus Marsh and Geelong Regions
The Alliance has produced a “Guide to Indigenous Plant Suppliers for the Ballarat, Bacchus Marsh and Geelong Regions” for use by Landcare, Friends and agencies within the local region.
The guide focuses on the native plant and seed industry critical to future landscape restoration activities. The availability of native plant stock may limit environmental revegetation projects, especially as the climate changes. Seed availability can vary, and erratic rainfall will influence the timing and success of plantings.
The Alliance has spoken to nurseries and groups with an interest in maintaining an ongoing supply, to develop strategies to enable groups to access the right plants, in the right numbers at the right times.
